Mark gained his Bronze Medallion in 1989 and quickly established himself as a skilled member of what was an extremely successful group of surfboat crews through the 90s. He was also an accomplished beach competitor and earned state representation (once with captaincy honours) on several occasions. Mark’s prowess in the IRB and patrolling space gave him plenty of opportunities to lead and share his skill and knowledge with younger (and new) members.
