Michael gained his Bronze Medallion in 1984 as a member of one of our successful junior surfboat crews. After travelling away but staying involved with the surf life saving movement (and enjoying a career highlight of making the Open Boat final with Devonport SLSC in 1999) Michael returned to our club and became very active in our administration. He was president during a period of major change, development and expansion including the successful hosting of the National IRB Championships in 2010.
