Rod came into surf life saving when his daughter showed interest in our Nippers program.  He quickly showed his determination to contribute to our club by taking on responsibilities such as IRB Captain and Chairman of Junior Activities.  Rod was also a driving force behind the scenes at junior carnivals with state centre roles and officiating duties.  All these achievements were successfully completed with Rod’s customary sense of fairness and subtle humour.
