Burnie Surf Carnival

There was something in the air at Burnie (possibly helped by the amazing conditions and no need for wetsuits) where everyone had a roaring success, achieving personal best performances. There were also a few feeling under the weather (COVID tests all negative!) who made difficult decisions not to compete in some events. Saying no can be as hard and sometimes harder as just saying ‘yes’. Knowing when your body has reached a limit is all part of successful competing.

Although it was the 4th carnival of the year, being close to home, it was also the first for some. Thankfully the conditions were near perfect, with waves that were fun rather than daunting.

The successes of the final surf carnival before states feels like it has left excitement in the air and what we might achieve at the State Carnival, on our home ground…
